In April of 1996, an Applications Camp was held at San Diego State University. The camp was sponsored by the now defunct SBC Education First Initiative and the San Diego State University
Department of Educational Technology. The camp was presented by the Education First
Application Design Team. The camp was held over a two-day period and provided "campers" with the expertise and skills to create simple HTML products.
The original website has been changed to allow other users to benefit from the applications and materials developed for the campers. As new products emerge, we will add them to the appropriate sections. This application can also serve as a generic training template and will include a recommended agenda, handouts, and an evaluation form. We welcome you to Camp GetchaontheWeb and hope that you will enjoy your experience here!
The Camp is divided into these sections:
- Surf--search engine basics and simple activities to gain search skills
- Create--use our programs to create Hotlists, HomePages, and more (No need to know HTML!)
- Edit--whether you borrowed it off the web, or made it yourself; this page will help you customize your web page
- Train--need to conduct some training and don't want to do the legwork, use ours (includes agendas, evaluation forms, and activities)
- Good Reads--thought-provoking articles to get the creative juices flowing
