Let's explore the internet for famous works of art and create one of our own also. This activity is meant to be a fun way for you to learn about art and the artists who created the masterpieces, while also focusing on California Standards 1.1 Perceive and describe rhythm and movement in works of art and in the environment;1.2 Describe how artists use tints and shades in painting; and 1.4 Compare and contrast two works of art made by the use of different art tools and media (e.g., watercolor, tempera, computer). Please have fun surfing the Web to explore and discover more than you ever imagined about art and art history. Listed below you will find a series of questions pertaining to our topip and California Standards 1.1-1.4. I have provided several links on this page to help you find the answers and have fun at the same time checking out famous paintings. Dont' forget to create your own painting at the end and answer the final question about your artistic creation! Be thoughtful about your response, but make sure it fits in the box provided so you won't have trouble printing it out later. Have fun on your hunt!
Compare and contrast two works of art that you found on your hunt, meaning explain the similarities and differences found in the two paintings. Please specify the title of each piece, the artist, and the year it was painted. Please also describe any movement or rhythm depicted in the painting, the different colors that were used, as well as any shading or tinting that occurred. Do you like one better than the other?
