Using the Web allows you to discover way more than you may have ever thought possible. Below is a list of questions about light. Surf the links on this page to find answers to the questions and record them on your 'Introduction to Light' worksheet. The 'Internet Resources' are labeled according to the question they belong with. This assignment should be completed by the end of the hour.

Questions

  2. Explain how the images differ when looking into a convex and a concave mirror.

  3. List 3 real life examples of surfaces that reflect light.

  4. Try the activity on 'Angles of Reflection'. When the incident angle is 66 degrees how many degress is the reflected angle?

  5. What causes refraction?

  6. Read through and try the activity on 'Refraction of Light'. After exploring with the angles a while try the following:
    1. Set the color to 'White Light'
    2. Set the 'Material' you are looking through to 'Water'
    3. Set the 'Incident Angle' to 66 degrees
What is the degree range of the refracted angle?

  7. How does a pencil in a beaker of water illustrate refraction?
