Introduction
In addition to using books and magazines to find out about 3rd grade math games, why not also use the power of the Internet? The links below will get you started.

The Internet Resources

Measurement

Measure It! - Students will love this multi-level game. Be sure to practice with both centimeters and inches.
Measure the Fish - This site is amazing! With a click of a mouse, students will measure fish with a virtual ruler. Level 1 covers whole inches or centimeters. Level 2 divides the units of measurement.
Measure the Teddy Bears - Here's an easy measurement game. Get ready to measure the teddy bears!

Perimeter

Math Playground Interactive Lesson - Follow Amy and Ben as they build a backyard pen for their new puppy. They will be working with both perimeter and area.
Perimeter Explorer - Ask for some adult help with this interactive site.
Perimeter of a Rectangle - Students can choose from three different game formats. Scroll down to the purple section to make your choice.
Shape Surveyor - This is a wonderful game for calculating area and perimeter. Third grade students should click on 'easy' and 'perimeter.'

Area & Volume

Have a Go: Area - After a little practice at this site, area will truly be your area! Third grade students should play Level 1.
How Many Cubes? - Here's a great game for understanding volume. Try it!

Fractions

Fractions Quiz - Here's a multi-level fractions game that is just right for 3rd grade students. Give it a try!
Math Matching--Fractions - Students will match the fractions to the models.
ReviseWise Fractions - Third graders complete the activity first. Then, read the fact sheet and take the quiz.
Shading - This game is fun! No pencils or crayons are needed here! Shade the fractions by clicking your mouse.
Visual Fractions - This game will challenge 3rd graders as well as older students. Start by identifying fractions.
Who Wants Pizza? - Third grade students should check out the introduction and the section about equivalent fractions. Older students will want to learn about adding and multiplying fractions.

Computations - This link will take you to Operation S.A.M. where you will find many fun activities for practicing subtraction, addition and multiplication.
