Oakland Zoo - Gives details of many creatures with photos and details of how they have adapted to survive.
Lincoln Zoo - This site gives good brief details of animals and their features and adaptations.
Fish in focus - This site details information including adaptation of 10 common fish including the grey nurse shark and the seahorse.
The Electronic Zoo - This web-site provides links to other sites about individual animals or animal groups.
Lycos encyclopedia of animals - Just type in the name of the animal you are looking for and presto!! This is just like a real encyclopedia without turning the pages.

Bats 4 Kids - This site has excellent information on the all kinds of bats.
All about Turtles - A good place to start if you are interested in turtles.
