AARP - Computer Basics - Basic Web lessons in simple terms
Basic Windows Tutorials and Training - Have you ever talked to someone who knew a lot about computers? They try to be helpful, but often times they’ll talk to you based on the assumption that EVERYONE knows the basics of Windows! We know that’s not necessarily true. This series of free courses is designed to help you learn the basic commands and elements of Microsoft Windows. These tutorials are not geared toward a certain version of Microsoft Windows (for instance Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows 2000), but teaches those aspects that are common throughout all versions. Windows XP courses and tutorials are available here.
Computer Basics, The Internet and Tutorials - This site also has some good basic PC use information, including terminology.
Computer Literacy 101 - The lessons in this Computer Basics section of Jan's Illustrated Computer Literacy 101 explain a lot of the techno-babble that you hear about computers. The goal is to learn enough that you can follow along as computer technology becomes more and more important in our world.
Free Computer Skills Training - This covers much of the same material as the PC series but is on the Web. There are also excellent sections on Career Development and Workplace Development (things such as preparing for a job, resumes and cover letters etc.).
Net Lingo - NetLingo has thousands of definitions that explain the online world of business, technology, and communication -- including the largest collection of Internet acronyms and text messaging shorthand for cell phones.

All the Touch Typing Tutors - Lists of Websites, but stick to the Freeware list.
Free Online Typing Course - Requires registration.
Learn Keyboarding Typing - Downloadable programs and other resources (some free; some fee) None of these products are endorsed or recommended; for information purposes only.

QWERTY Warriors - Online typing skills game
Type Online U.K. - simple explanations and easy to use format. Although created for the U.K. it works well for U.S. students. Area of study include: Safety first, Keyboard lessons, Number pad lessons, Copy practice, Speed test

New User Tutorial - Basic skills and includes how to use a mouse effectively.

Best Sites for Surfing the Internet - More instruction on using the Internet effectively.
Learn to Use Internet Explorer - Basic instruction on how to use the Internet, and includes: FireFox Guide, Internet Explorer Guide, Netscape Navigator, Safari for Mac. Also includes information on search engines, virus and spyware, email and vocabulary.
