Teaching With Historic Places - African American History - This site from the National Park Service and National Register of Historic Places offers a different way to teach Black History; use places not just people. The site offers lesson plans that can be adapted for use with upper elementary students.
Biographies
Celebrate Black History Month - From the Biography Channel, this site has information on the history of Black History Month, as well as short biographies on 350 African-Americans across all walks of life. Be sure to check out the 101 Fast Facts link as well.
Eras in Black History - This site from Britannica Online includes a timeline, audio and video clips, and an alphabetical listing of notable African-Americans. A very thorough and user-friendly site.
