Literacy

0821420 Power Up K-12 Databases Usage and Integration - In this course, participants will learn ways to embed these state-funded resources in classroom activities across the curriculum. Attendees will also learn to help students acquire necessary information literacy skills through the effective use of these resources. They will also gain an understanding of the important role collaboration with colleagues plays in the successful integration of the K-12 Databases. Pre-requisite: Completion of EBSCO Basics and Advanced courses (online or face-to-face), and Britannica course (face-to-face or Webinar).
2003 Report on Teen Read Week - Some insight into teens and their reading habits.
Amped Book Talking for Teens with Naomi Bates - Learn about young adult literature through teen perspective, research, and trends. Listen to new titles as well as titles on both the TAYSHAS and LONESTAR list. This workshop will show you several tricks and tips on doing book talking through traditional as well as digital and audio formats. Bring two YA books you´ve read recently to help facilitate technology and for audience participation. Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptops. A limited number of computers will be available at ESC-2.
