Introduction
This site was created by Mrs. Rupnow,second grade teacher at Maple Avenue Elmentary School in Sussex, Wisconsin. Included is a list of child-friendly search engines, sites we use in class, as well as, some sites to visit just for fun. Please remember that children should always be supervised as they explore the World Wide Web.

Reading/Language Arts

AAA Spelling - A great place to practice the 'rules' of spelling.
Arthur - Use this website to learn some fun facts about Arthur and his friends. There are also some fun games to play.
Between the Lions - Get wild about reading with these PBS characters. Good for reading and phonics practice.
Dr. Seuss - Learn more about Dr. Seuss and do activites related to his books.
Houghton Mifflin-Spelling - Hands on spelling activities connected to our spelling units.
Into the Books - Interactive activities to be used with the 2nd grade.
Marc Brown Video - This is a video of Marc Brown telling how he started writing about Arthur.
Pauline Haass Public Library's Kid's Page - Check this site out to see what's happening in the children's area at the public library in Sussex.
