This hotlist has been created for middle to upper elementary students to use in researching the gods, goddesses, heroes, and other characters of Greek Mythology.

Best of the Web

Encyclopedia of Greek Myths - This site is very well laid-out and very easy to read. It provides an alphabetical list of ALL of the characters from Greek Mythology. Click on the one you want, and you will get a brief but detailed description.
Greek Mythology - This site is also very easy to navigate to find the information you are looking for. Brief descriptions and occasionally an illustration are given, without a lot of commentary.
Mythweb - Students will like this site. It is easy to read, has appealing illustrations and gives the information in an easy to understand format. Start here!

Additional Information

History for Kids - Greek Myths - This site is easy for kids to read and fairly well organized. It is easy to find the Greek mythological figure you are looking for and also to find shortened versions of many of the Greek myths.
Mythography - This site gives one sentence explanations of who each of the god/goddesses were.
Mythology of the Constellations - Most of the constellations are associated with mythology. This site provides information about some of those constellations and the character with which they are associated.

Beyond Mythology

The Ancient Greek World - If you want to know more about the people of ancient Greece, not just the mythology, this site provides it and a virtual tour of the museum.
