Introduction
Although good health habits can’t ward off all illnesses, they go a long way toward preventing many major illnesses, such as heart disease and stroke.

Preventable illness makes up approximately 80% percent of the burden of illness and 90% of all healthcare costs.

Preventable illness accounts for eight of the nine leading categories of death.

Throughout history, people have tried to cure illness and restore health. People in developed countries have relatively high expectations of health and medicine. They view illness as something out of the ordinary that should quickly be cured by advanced medical services. It is important to learn as much about diseases as we can, so we can cure or prevent diseases.

Let's begin our research.

Construct an informational fact sheet concerning a specific disease or disorder. Provide three (3) references (at least one must come from a book). Be prepared to share what you learned with your classmates.

Include the following information:

-A thorough description of the disease which may include a picture if possible or applicable.

-What is the specific cause of the disease? If it is communicable, state and describe the pathogen that transmits the disease. If the disease is non-communicable, state specifically if it is caused by environmental, genetic, or lifestyle factors.

-Provide an explanation of the signs and symptons.

-Explain various cures and/or treatments.

-If applicable, explore prevention and/or immunization.

-Include interesting facts and statistics.

-State where further information on this disease may be found: organizations, foundations, websites, library references.

-Include at least one picture or informative graph.

-Discuss which medical professionals assist patients afflicted with this disease or disorder.

-Any famous people, either living or dead, who suffer/suffered from this disease or disorder, if applicable.
