Introduction
These hotlinks were created by the 8th grade students as part of their Holocaust study. It is a good starting place to find information. Please also check out books on this topic.

The Internet Resources

Auschwitz Death Camp - This site has basic facts about Auschwitz and the history of the camp.
Rescue in Denmark - Denmark was the only country that actively resisted Nazi Germany's orders to deport their Jewish population. Includes a timeline.
The Virtual Jewish History Tour - This site has good info but also has a history of Jews in Denmark. It is a personal page.

Camps-Ghettos

Auchwitz: The Camp of Death - This website gives a good idea on how the Jews were treated and what they did in this horrifying camp.
Auschwitz -
Auschwitz - This site is basic information on Auschwitz and a description. It states emotions of many Jews and what they went through.
Auschwitz Death Camp - This website gave good information for the death camp Auschwitz. It defines important terms that you might not understand and provides you with some good pictures.
Auschwitz timeline - This is a timeline of the events in the Holocaust at Auschwitz.
Auschwitz- Gate to Hell - This is an excellent website with many different facts on Auschwitz and it's conditions. Also of the people that controlled it.
Auschwitz-Birkenau - An explanation of Auschwitz.
Auschwitz-Birkenau - 'The Death Factory' - This site says how Jews were executed. It states basc facts about the camp.
Bergen- Belsen - Links to information about all aspects of the this camp.
Bergen-Belsen - This camp was established between 2 towns in Germany in 1940.
Buchenwald - Talks about all aspects of the camp.
Buchenwald Encyclopedia - This website has a short description but has great links to view such things as, survivor stories and photos.
Classification system in the Concentration Camps - More than Jews were imprisoned in the Concentration Camps.
Edward R. Murrow's Report From Buchenwald - This page tells about what Buchenwald was like after it was liberated.
Ghettos - Confining Jews in ghettos was not Hitler's brainchild. For centuries, Jews had faced persecution, and were often forced to live in designated areas called ghettos . The Nazis' ghettos differed, however, in that they were a preliminary step in the annihilation of the Jews.
How my mother survived Auschwitz - This talks about how one miraculously survived the conditions of Auschwitz.
Liberation of Buchenwald - This website is written by a survivor of the Holocaust and is great information.
Life in the Ghettos - This site shows what had happened in the Ghettos, and what people went through. This is the life in the Ghettos.
The Warsaw Ghetto - Talks about the uprising. Includes a timeline.

The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising - Good site, lots of information that you don't find on other sites.
The Warsaw Ghetto- Ghetto Fights - 'Approximately 13,000 Jews were killed during the Uprising, with another 50,000 rounded up and deported to death camps. A few escapees continued to fight in the forests, whilst some who were arrested were later freed by the Polish underground forces and joined the Warsaw Uprising. An estimated 300 German troops died in the struggle.'

Warsaw Ghetto - It gives you a lot of information that is useful. It also shows some images of where it took place.
Warsaw Ghetto-1935 to 1945 - This website is about the Warsaw Ghetto's threats and deception, why the Jews didn't rebel, their struggle for humanity, controlling the ghettos, and more.

Adolf Hitler - This site shows pictures of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party and tells information about the final solution.
Adolf Hitler- the Holocaust - This site talks about Hitler when he was a child and then later on when he begins to take power over many countries.

Heinrich Himmler Biography - The page gives us info on Himmler's life story.
Himmler - The site is based on Himmler's biography.
Hitler Youth - HJ membership was made compulsory for youths over 17 in 1939, and for all over the age of 10 in 1941. By 1939, Hitler Youth membership comprised 90 percent of the country's youth.
Hitler Youth - Known in German as Hitler-Jugend. Hitler was a firm believer in the need to indoctrinate Nazi ideology early and the power of young people in ensuring the continued vitality of the 'Thousand Year Reich.' The Hitler Youth was based on Hitler's anti-intellectualism, focusing on military training in preparation for becoming a soldier at 18.

Oskar Schindler - This website mainly talks about his accomplishments with saving jews. It talks about his journey and saving them.

Resistance-Heros

Danish Resistance Movement - An overview of the Resistance Movement.
Denmark - Living with the Enemy - Includes a timeline, personal biographies, and the Nazi 'Ten Commandments for Danes'.
Denmark - Rescue of the Danish Jews - Very good and reliable site. Includes links to other Holocaust topics.
Holocaust Forgotten - This website tell you about the Auschwitz concentration camp and gives you years and informs you about what happened at that time.
The Danish Resistance - The sea route allowed the Danish Resistance to get out of the country over 7,000 of Denmark's 8,000 Jews. Because of this, Denmark had one of the lowest statistical casualty rates for Jews in the war.
The Rescue of the Danish Jews - This site has personal information about two Danish men, Preben Munch-Nielsen and Knud Dyby who worked to save the Jews.
The Rescue of the Jews of Denmark - This is the site of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, which is very reliable and valuable. It contains a timeline and pictures.

Kristallnacht - The burning of the synagogue in Ober Ramstadt.
Kristallnacht - Night of the Broken glass. - 'Kristallnacht marked a major escalation in the Nazi program of Jewish persecution.'

The 'Final Solution' - Discusses Ghettos and extermination camps as a Final Solution to the problem of the Jewish population. Includes a timeline from 1933-1945.
