Famous Inventions by Timeline or A to Z - Links to inventions and inventors. If you would rather search by inventor, click the appropriate link on the left to take you there.
Forgotten Inventors - From PBS's American Experience, this page showcases some of the forgotten inventors. There is not a lot of information here, but this would be a good starting point for the student who wanted to do a lesser known inventor. They could then find more information elsewhere.

Kids Infobits - Scientists & Inventors - From the Gale database, this page lists 29 scientists and inventors. Students simply click on the name of the person they are researching to read an article about that person.
Lemelson-MIT Invention Dimension - This site spotlights a different inventor each week. Students can search the archives for information about a particular inventor or type of invention.
Super Scientists - A Gallery of Energy Pioneers - Not everyone located on this page is an inventor, but many of them are. This site has basic biographical information that is easy for middle elementary students to read and a photo.
Zoom Inventors and Inventions - From Enchanted Learning, students can search for an invention using an alphabetical list. They can also search for an inventor by country, date, or type of invention. There are photographs and links to additional information as well.
