Introduction
In addition to using books and magazines to find out about kindergarten literacy, why not also use the power of the Internet? The links below will get you started.

The Internet Resources

Phonics

Beginning sounds - Click on the pictures that start with the same sound as the first letter.
Begins with - Click on pictures to find all of the pictures that match the beginning sounds.
Gus and Inky - Help Gus find things for his trip to see Inky by clicking on the beginning sounds that he needs.
Letters and sounds - Click on the letters to learn about their sounds!
Mix and match - 5 levels, short, long, digraphs, dipthongs and vce pattern.
Phonic fighter - Match the correct picture with the letter and shoot the aliens!

Rhyming

Find the rhymes - There are three pictures, drag the 'x' to the picture that does not rhyme with the other two.
Match rhyming words - Click on the pictures that rhyme.
Professor Garfield - Find the pictures that rhyme with a given word.
Reggie's rhymes - Help Reggie find rhyming words.
Rhyme Time - Help Gus find the rhyming pictures so he can finish his rap song.
Rhyming words - Pick the word that rhymes with the pronounced word.

CVC

CVC Machine - You choose the ending then decide if it is a real word or not.
CVC words - Student selects the word that matches the picture.
Fuzzy Lion Ears - Listen to the word and decide what letter is missing.
Make a word - Clifford wants you to add the vowels to make as many CVC words as you can.
Put it on the shelf - Match the CVC pictures to the words by dragging them to the shelf that has the same word.
See-N-Spell - Students create the word that matches the picture. Then they self-check their work.

Alphabet

ABC ordering - Guess what letter comes next on the alphabet train.
Alphabet Action - Click a letter to hear its name and see a picture.
Alphabet Book Game - Put the books in ABC order.
Alphabet letter puzzle - Match the capital letter to the lowercase letter.
Alphabet match - Help the kid kangaroos find their adult kangaroos by matching upper and lowercase letters.
Alphabet order - Click and drag the mixed up letters back in order.
Create a reader - Help rabbit find all of the letters by clicking on the letter she says.
Spring Bee - Help the bee put all of the letters back in the bee-hive in the correct order.
Upper and lowercase matching - Match the lowercse shirt to the uppercase shirt.

Sight Words

Beginning sight words - The sight words will flash on and off the screen for the students to read.
Color match - Match the color sight words in a concentration game.
Dolch words - Mini books that contain Dolch words are read to the students and then the students can read them again.
Jan Brett Lists - Jan Brett has compiled the first 10 lists of Dolch words. They are easy to read and practice.
Phonics endings - Click on the word that matches the word family picture.
Sight words - Click on the words to hear what they are.
Starfall word families - Click on a word family ending and do activities with that ending.
Word builder - The students will create the pronounced sight words by clicking and dragging the letters.
