Introduction
These sites have a great deal of information, most of it too difficult for young students to read. But you will find great photos, good teacher resources, and a few online games as well.

The Internet Resources

General Information

British Antarctic Survey - This site has a picture and information on each of 17 different species of penguin. Again, too high a reading level for lower elementary but a good resource for the teacher and a good place to see pictures.
Fishin' for Facts - Penguins - Scroll down on the page until you get to 'Penguins'. This site presents the information in a concise, easy to read format that the students could use on their own.
March of the Penguins - This site from the movie has background information, beautiful pictures, and a kids section. You can also watch a trailer from the movie.
New Zealand Penguins - This site is full of information and photos. You can look at a live Webcam of a penguin next (in New Zealand - where it is already tomorrow!)and play online games. Check out the FAQs. They give lots of information in an easy to understand format and you can listen to how penguins communiciate!
Penguins - This site from Sea World/Busch Gardens has lots of indepth information and pictures. This site would be too difficult for young students to read, but is a good teacher resource.
Penguins Around the World - This site has general information and photos. There is a slide show, lessons plans, and an online quiz.
Penguins of the World - Numerous amounts of information about penguins, with pictures. This will be too difficult for primary students to read, but is a good teacher resource.

Lessons/Activities

WebQuest: Penguins - This is a Webquest created by a first grade teacher. Students complete online tasks as they research one type of penguin.

Kid Stuff

Coloring Pages - Printable pages of different penguins that students can color. There is also a printable color-by-number and connect the dots sheet as well.
Kids Corner at Penguin Planet - Students can play online games, take a quiz, or print instructions to make a penguin mask.
