Let's use the Internet to have some fun while learning about the Preisdents of the United States! Here's several links to get you started. Please make note of the description next to each link because we will be discussing the answers to these questions and prompts in class, as well as writing in our journals about what we have learned.

Lists of the Presidents of the United States of America

The Internet Public Library: POTUS - Here you will find a list of the 44 Presidents of the United States (POTUS). Make a note of the 'On this day in POTUS history...' fact. By clicking on the names of each president, you will find some background information including election results, cabinet members, and points of interest on each president. Click on our current President, Barack Obama, and make a mental note of his three points of interest.
White House 101 - Here is a site where you can find out almost anything you'd ever want to know about The White House, our governement, and the presidents. Click on the 'OUR PRESIDENTS' weblink and watch the slideshow of the 44 Presidents of the United States. Pick one president and read his full biography; this link is listed under his picture during the slideshow.
Wikipedia List of the Presidents of the United States of America - Another comprehensive list of our 44 POTUS (Presidents of the Unites States). this time scroll down to the bottom of the page where it lists the Presidents by Party Affiliation. Add up all of the Democratic presidents (blue circles). How many have there been? Now add the Rebublican presidents. How many have there been? Which party has had more elected presidents?

A Musical Approach to the Presidents

Animaniacs Presidents Song - Here's a fun youtube video: a song about the Presidents from an old catoon show called The Animaniacs. Please watch the video, and make note where the song ends. It was written quite some time ago and it doesn't have verses for George W. Bush or Barack Obama. Can you write a 4-line verse for Presidents #43 and #44?
Nickelodeon President's Song - Another fun YouTube song about the presidents. This one doesn't include Barack Obama either, but you can sing it in at the end if you'd like. Please write down a fact from this song that you learned about one of our past presidents.
YouTube: 44 Presidents by Rhythm, Rhyme, Results - Please watch this comprehensive rap song about all 44 Presidents. Bobbing your head is optional, but encouraged.

Lots of Fantastic Presidents Games! - Here you can play memory, hangman, trivia quizes, or even pretend to be president for a day. Browse around and look at at least 5 games. Try out Dynamite Presidents as one of these 5 games, and answer trivia questions about the 4 presidents whose images are carved into Mt. Rushmore. What was the name of the sculptor who created Mt. Rushmore?
Primary Games -- The Presidents Game - Identify 10 past presidents by their pictures. After answering, please read the fact about that president. How many presidents were you able to guess correctly on the first try?
