Keyboarding

Bubbles - Keyboarding game that lets you improve your typing skills by popping bubbles that have letters in them. Keeps track of number missed and the amount of time you played as well as your score. When the game is over, (miss 10) it will display your WPM.
Dance Mat Keyboarding - Introduction to the homerow and proper keyboarding techniques. A fun way to start.
Keyboarding Games - Martian City Defender, Meteor Typing Blast, Spacebar Invaders, Keyboard Triatholon,Save the Sailboat,Outerspace Fleet Commander, The Frogs are off their Diet. On the top are also tabs that will allow you to check your score against other schools and also other typing test links. Typing Test - Test your WPM for grades 3-8. If you are below the grade goal, practice using ATRT or one of our games.

Early Literacy

ABC-YA - K-5 website with flash activities to teach early computer skills such as mouse and clicking. Also has counting and ABC games.
Early Literacy Skills - Kindergarten + ILC - Website that has stories, phonics, songs and basic computer skills.
Email Santa - Email Santa and he will email you back!
KiddieGames - Preschool and ILC activities - basic clicking skills. Flash video games from songs to ABC (Musical Clang and Alphabet Clang) Identify parts of body or trafic lights.
NorthPole - A fun interactive site to explore working on reading, mouse, and writing(letter to Santa)
PBS KIDS - Several games for KG and ILC. Go to games and click on Peekaboo for Risa. Teaches a variety of very early skills.

Puzzle Pixies - Early games for ILC and KG. Has puzzles and a music keyboard game.
Santa Claus - Cyberspace - Some fun sing alongs - Sugarplum Mary and also some other places to explore. Write a letter ot Santa check if you've been naughty or nice.

Starfall - Early litercy website that teaches basic letter sounds and then turns to early reading. Highly interactive.

Teacher

Cool teaching videos - Thius has several topics that are explored in video format. Most bounce off Youtube and have advertisements on the side.
Copyright Laws for Music - Find out if ripping your music is illegal or not. It depends on what you are doing with it.
Interactive White(SMART)Board Activities for K-5 - Many different themes for grades K-4. Interactive so these can be done individually in the computer lab to enhance the classroom learning or it could be done on a SMART board as a guided learning activity. Take a quick look to see what would match with your class.
K-12 Computers - A list of links for almost all grades and all subjects. Perfect for finding projects to work with students.
Saskatchewan Web Resources - A list of web resources from Central Ischool - Saskatewan developed and curriculum friendly. A great resource for all Teachers. Includes interdisciplinary projects and units.
Woodlands Junior High - Great links to interactive math, science, and literacy activities - suitable for all our students. There is also a game section. Students should not enter this area without permission from a supervising teacher.

Factors that affect Growth of a plant - 5Z - Go through parts 1-4 and on the fourth part, printscreen and copy it into a word document. Then explain what you learned today.
Make Believe Comics - Create your own comic online and then put it in your newspaper. Try telling a story or explain a concept you learned about in class in a creative way.

Monarch Butterfly Puzzle - Try to beat the clock as you complete an online puzzle.
Monarch Butterfly Videos - Watch several videos about Monarch Butterflies.
Monarch Butterfly Word Search - Try to find all the words in the word search as quickly as you can.
Monarch Butterfly Word Search 2 - Try this word search after you finish the first one. Try to get the fastest time.
Monarch Tic Tac Toe - Play tic-tac-toe against a butterfly.
Plant Links - A list of plant links for 5Z to check out.
Reproduction Cycle of a plant - Click on white board activity 1 to go through the reproduction cylce of a flowering plant.
Space Webquest - Grade 3 space webquest. You will have to read and follow instructions.
Voice Thread - Create a multimedia experience with pictures and words. Similar to Photostory except it allows people to comment on the pictures and interact with your project.
Wordle - Create word collages simply by typing a number of words in a box and hitting create. Great for creating a quick word bank for a unit.

Canada Facts - Click on the map of Canada to gather facts about our country. Then click on the Flag to learn about the provinces. Lastly, click on the quiz, copy the quiz into word and then answer the questions by typing on the blanks in word. The answers should come from reading the map at the top of the page.
Canada Remembers - Us ethis site to listen to veterans tell their stories of their experiences in war. For use with the Heroes Project
Where are the Provinces Quiz - 13 questions that ask you to find the provinces and territories of Canada. Do your best and try to get the highest score.
