Introduction
From the moment he or she is born, a baby is learning how to communicate. He/She progresses from simply crying and cooing, to speaking in phrases, and eventually to making short sentences as he/she moves into toddlerhood. Parents are a child's first teacher, helping their baby develop solid language skills through talking, singing, playing, and reading together.

Reading and reading activities that teach babies how to understand and use language are an easy, natural way to build reading skills and promote literacy.

A child's reading skills are important to their success in school and work. In addition, reading can be a fun and imaginative activity for children, which opens doors to all kinds of new worlds for them.
