Introduction
Here are some sites to use for researching Texas History and Indpendence. Teachers, as always, please preview the sites before using them with your students.

The Internet Resources

Daughters of the Republic of Texas Library - If your focus is the Alamo, you will get a chronology of important dates and events at this site.
Handbook of Texas Online - This site has enormous amounts of information about Texas and is a good place to find information about a specific person or event.
Lone Star Junction - This site has links to timelines, images, songs, and biographies of people who were important to the history of Texas. There is a wealth of information here.
The Alamo - Click on the link for The Alamo in History and find out all about the battle of the Alamo.
The U.S. - Mexican War (1846-1848) - This site from PBS details the issues that led to the war. There is also an illustrated timeline of events.
