All About Mushing and the Iditarod

Iditarod History - Here is some background information on the Iditarod.
Iditarod.com - This is the official site of the 'Last Great Race'.
Maps of the Northern and Southern Routes of the trail - See the checkpoints and the mileage between them for this year's race on the interactive map.
Mushing Terminology - You can find all the terms you need to know about mushing at 'Everything Husky: The World of Northern Breed Dogs'.
Race Photos from 1997 to 2008 - Here are some great race photos from the Anchorage Daily News.
What is the Iditarod? - Visit the 'Ultimate Iditarod' site and learn background information about the race. This site has a good 'Teachers and Kids' information section.
What's in the Sled? - The Iditarod rules require that 'some type of sled' be drawn. The rules also require that the sleds carry certain items in addition to whatever the musher wants to pack for the trip. Here are the basics (from UltimateIditarod.com.)
