In addition to using books and magazines to find out about Women's History , why not also use the power of the Internet? The links below will get you started.
Women of Accomplishment: An Internet Scavenger Hunt
- Neglected for years, the historical contributions of women are celebrated during March, the official National Women's History Month. Supplement your textbooks with the other half of history -- the achievements of women -- by posing a question about women's history during every school day of the month!
Women in World History.com
- This unique site is full of information and resources to help you learn about women’s history in a global, non- U.S., context. Here teachers, students, parents, history buffs, and the interested public can find information on the following topics.
4,000 Years of Women in Science
- 4,000 years of women in science! Did you know that? Women are, and always have been, scientists. This site lists over 125 names from our scientific and technical past. They are all women!
Children's Encyclopedia of Women
- This encyclopedia was begun in March 1998 by third and fourth grade students at Pocantico Hills School in Sleepy Hollow, NY. We added to it during March and April of 1999 and 2000. We are currently in the process of adding to the collection with this year's third and fourth grade work. The children choose a woman based on a topic they are interested in. This is by no means a complete collection. We hope you enjoy your visit and come back soon to see our new addition!
